PHOENIX canariensis (Canary Island Date Palm)

A large majestic palm tree growing to over 15 metres and up to 40 metres. It is noted for its massive, thick trunk with distinctive diamond-shaped leaf base scars. The trunk is topped with attractive arching pinnate fronds. It is widely used in resort gardens and for impressive avenues. It is frost and drought resistant.

Root ball will be square - 1.2-1.5m wide x .8-1m deep depending upon size of palm.
